Aryna Sabalenka

Sabalenka was conceived in Minsk. Sergey Sabalenka (d. 2019) is her hockey-playing father. Aryna Sabalenka was born in Minsk on 5 May 1998. In her career she has been awarded 12 WTA singles titles. One of them was a Grand Slam at the 2023 Australian Open. As a doubles player, she's an excellent player. She's been a winner of two Majors in the past with Elise Mertens, the US Open in 2019 and the Australian Open in 2021. It was the Sunshine Double was achieved by Elise Mertens and her in the year 2019. They both won WTA 1000s in Indian Wells & Miami. Four women's teams were able to achieve this achievement. On 23 August 2021 she rose to second position in the world singles ranking her top ranking again in the month of January in 2023. But in doubles, she rose to the top spot following her win at Melbourne in February the following year. Dmitry Tursunov (a former Russian tennis player) was her coach for a portion of the 2019 season as well as from the year 2018 until closing. She also briefly teamed up with Dieter Kindlmann in August until September of 2020. She has been trained by her native countryman Antonio Dubrov since the end of 2020. Serena Williams & Maria Sharapova have been her inspirations.
